Jack's was started with a simple goal: to deliver excellent veterinary care for pets while providing a personalised, modern, and transparently priced experience for pet owners.
Many veterinary practices today can feel faceless. Previously, pet owners often got to know the receptionists, nurses and vets who treated their pet. Staff were able to build lasting bonds with the pets that they saw at routine appointments and were available to them at times of need. Today, next day appointments are rarely available, staff turnover is incredibly high and the majority of practices are controlled by large corporations. Meanwhile, prices rise and rise with little explanation or alternatives offered.
We're changing all of that.
At Jack's, we envision a different sort of veterinary experience that combines modern care and equipment with warm hospitality and a commitment to transparency.
As an independent and locally owned practice, we have complete control of our diary, and our prices. We can tailor treatment's to suit you and your pets needs and talk openly about the costs associated. We know that vets bills can be expensive and that with non-routine care in particular, the cost of a visit can add strain to an already difficult situation.
Starting afresh, we can avoid the mistakes made by those before us. We will limit registrations so that we can always find diary time to serve the pets already entrusted to our care. Controlling our numbers from the outset means that we will be able to guarantee next day appointments and our staff will be able to give each pet and owner the time and attention that they need.
We love animals and want to get to know them again. We're creating a calming environment designed with animal behaviour and psychology in mind to provide the best possible experience for the pets we serve. We will assign each pet a primary vet and a secondary vet who can get to know them over the course of their life.
We're local, as is our name! Swansea Jack was a Black retriever reported to have rescued more than 27 people from the docks and riverbanks of Swansea. Named ‘Dog of the Century’, Jack is still the only dog to have ever been awarded two bronze medals by the Dogs Trust for bravery. We've named the practice in memory of Jack.
" I started Jack's because I believe veterinary care can be better. Sometimes it is easy to forget how much of an impact veterinary care can make on the lives of individuals and families. Pet owners all have one thing in common - they want to do the right thing for their pet. When time is limited, and stress levels in a practice are high, staff can lose sight of this. At Jack's, caring for pet-owners will be at the forefront of what we do. Only then can we properly care for their pets."
